Tuesday Dec. 26 is the first day of Kwanzaa 2017. It’s the 51st anniversary of the cultural holiday founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga. The city of Philadelphia is partnering with the Kwanzaa Cooperative to celebrate Kwanzaa 2017 Boathouse Row at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairmount Fish Ladder (across from Boathouse Row). The weeklong celebration commemorates The Nguzo Saba which are The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.
