The arrest of two African-American real estate entrepreneurs waiting for a business meeting at the Starbucks located at 18th and Spruce streets in Philadelphia’s affluent Rittenhouse Square area has lead to a call to action from countless civil rights leaders and community stakeholders. Wednesday WURD Radio hosted “Courageous Conversation: Being While Black – A Community Discussion on History, Healing and Empowerment” at The African American Museum in Philadelphia May 30 to offer a safe space for citizens to discuss the impact of being racially profiled, discriminated against and gentrification.
