2020 was a tough year. Surprisingly it was a very busy year for my Nicki Mayo News LLC multimedia company. Clients this year included The Crisis Magazine (NAACP), Grounded Solutions Network, The Maryland Academy of Dance, Oh-Mazing Food, St. Luke Catholic Church (McLean, Va.), thinkLaw, TV One, WealthyU, The White Dress Project and more. Here are a few #YearInReview highlights.

Apparently the theme for 2020 was EQUITY.

The Crisis Magazine Election 2020 coverage.
The Crisis Magazine produced nationwide team coverage with real time reports Election Day 2020. Our team of Black journalists included 12 correspondents in battleground states and two interns-turned-digital producers ready to churn out social media posts in breaking news fashion for a #BlackPress legacy news organization. We also had two editors managing field crews while tailoring copy for digital platforms. Our editorial staff utilized multiple apps (Slack, Canva, Wavve and more) to manage the workflow, edit social media a/v files and deliver polished branded content suitable for one of the nation’s oldest civil rights groups, while maintaining our journalistic commitment to ethics. The Crisis Magazine’s one day coverage featured 50 multimedia social media posts that could each easily stand alone as a complete story. This is paramount to social media engagement.
